What parallel universe does this idiot inhabit?

Tragedies

First off, the destruction of New Orleans (and that is no overstatement) is just beyond belief. Amy and I visited that great American city for the first time this past April. I can’t believe that nearly all of those historic, colorful, exquisite places we visited are under water and destroyed forever. Please donate to the relief effort. (Judging by the slow server response, it appears that the Red Cross site is being inundated with people stepping up to the plate and donating.)

Second: What the fuck is wrong with the Democrats?! Their political paralysis is truly astonishing. I’m so fucking pissed off at these people, I could scream. The conspiracy theories are beginning to seem plausible. This is fucking insane.

Oh, and meanwhile in Clusterfuckistan.

Your friends, associates, and family members that are still backing this administration and this war, tell them I said to eat shit.

Not Even Close to Being Convinced

Here’s why:

Clark is a creation of the U.S. military-industrial complex, the fucking scourge of the planet. Can that really be denied? Enough of the stealth bombers, troop deployments, and strategic target talk. Makes me sick. And angry. It’s time to create a Department of Peace. No more fucking warriors. I don’t give a fuck if that doesn’t sound pragmatic. No more fucking warriors.

I don’t want to base my allegiance on the high probability that this authentic war hero could beat the shit out of AWOL Bush. Is that why I’m supposed to support Clark? Simply because he can out-macho Bush in the Red States? Not good enough. No sale.

Clark chunked it in the primaries. Sure, he is an extremely intelligent and capable dude, but politics requires a different skill set than the world of NATO. Is he cut out for the White House? (And no, don’t use the Bush standard. We need to aim a bit higher than that).

I just don’t know about this Clark fellow. There’s something creepy underneath the surface. A massive ego? A potential political blunderer? Who’s on his political team? What are his corporate allegiances? Is this man a progressive? I don’t think so. Clark appears to be a product of the mainstream Washington establishment. My tolerance for that class has long since expired.

Last, and correct me if I’m wrong here, but Clark’s plan for Iraq sounds like warmed-over Kerry rhetoric. “I can stay in Iraq better.” Fuck that shit. I don’t want Kerry with eagles on his chest. We need to get the fuck out of Iraq.

With all that extreme skepticism off my chest, I’m going to really look into Clark and keep my mind as open as possible to him. But just remember. Talk is cheap. Every aspirant to power talks sweet when in need of your vote.

Kewl Kids

This analysis of The Sickness is just bang on the money.

What we have is the perfect storm of political horror: a thoroughly corrupt neo-fascist regime is virtually unchecked by a paralyzed “opposition” party and a boot-licking press.

I guess maybe the Civil War and the Great Depression were darker times for this country, but that means little to me today.

Our politics, our press, our culture….

Diseased.

Take the Poll

Here.

|

When?

Hey, look!

Another damning and spot-on indictment of the fascists.

It’s year five of this nightmare.

When is the dam going to break?

When will BushCo and its followers face accountability?

Christ, I’m so god damn sick of the never-ending grind.

Is the rage limited to just the blogosphere?

Thinks Concentration Camps Are Cool

Meet Michelle Malkin — racist BushCo hate merchant, sham academic, Fox regular, and partner in fascist agitation with Bill O’Reilly.

I’ve been aware of this vile creature for some time, but I haven’t gotten around to posting about her until now because she’s just so disgusting.

For those of that you that don’t know, Malkin, a Filipino-American whose real last name is Maglalang, authored a racist screed masking as an academic study titled “In Defense of Internment: The Case for Racial Profiling in World War II and the War on Terror.” She’s also been at the forefront—along with O’Reilly— of the campaign to attack Cindy Sheehan through distortions and flat-out lies. In short, she’s a piece of human garbage. But since I’ll likely be making reference to her in the future, I figured I should provide some background.

Here are more thoughts on Malkin.

“Bootlick to Republican Authority”

Apt phrase.
The Washington Post is just revealing itself to be the official print organ of the Washington Republican establishment, even edging out the Moonie Times for that honor. Now that they've unequivocally revealed their true face, we can just treat them as they are. And, yes, there are good reporters at the Post. But, the Post as a Washington Institution is just a bootlick to Republican authority.
And it ain’t just the Washington Post. It’s the entire MSM complex.

My good friend and fellow political/media junkie Tom recently returned from overseas and remarked to me that CNN is “gone.”

Did you ever imagine it would come to this?

Just give it a try!

Mom

She lost a son in BushCo’s Big Bloody Lie, and now the right-wing attack machine—led by that vile piece of excrement Bill O’Reilly — is pissing on her son’s grave.

These people are not human.

They are fucking filth

PS: I know the blog has been woefully behind the curve lately. I’ve been busy as hell. Luckily for all of you, there are great blogs like this one to keep you up to date on the rapidly unfolding events.

Are we seeing the beginnings of an anti-war movement?

Demon

Like anyone associated with BushCo is not?

Yeah, please spare me the eerie Manchurian Candidate recitations from the Rethugs and their media mouthpieces about what a "kind and compassionate" man Judge Roberts is.

The guy is Bush’s (er, Rove/Cheney’s) nominee for the Supreme Court.

That’s all you need to know about him.

Demon.

Into the Ether?

Via Alterman:
You know if Bush does end up pardoning Rove—and I agree he will, if he has to; Rove and Cheney are both indispensable men. I also think he’d be smart to do so, as Bush could not pull off the impression that he is even close to being qualified to be president without these guys whispering in his ear. (Can anyone remember a single news story during the history of this administration in which either Rove or Cheney did not appear to get what either one wanted from the man?) If Bush is forced to go this route, it will be a big story for a little while, but it will disappear into the ether like everything else (including 9/11, by the way, at least as a genuine act of war against the United States, instead of a political excuse for the Republican conservatives to do whatever they wanted to do in the first place). Anyway, the Democrats have no power and the media have no collective memory; plus, nearly half of them act as if they are in the pay of the RNC, although they get paid a lot more than they would if they were, and will muddy the waters sufficiently so somehow, it will all be Hillary’s fault. In other words, it will not translate into a “Saturday Night Massacre” because if Fox, Rush, Scarborough had been around then, Nixon and Kissinger would still be in office. (Well, you know what I mean.) As for the left-wing blogger-outrage it will inspire, well, somehow I think Bush can live with that too.
The masochist in me is still holding out hope that this act of treason will achieve “gate” status — and the equivalent or more severe result of Watergate. But, of course, Alterman’s scenario is all too plausible. And we should all know by now that applying historical models or analogies to BushCo is hazardous. This is not 1974. We are in uncharted waters.

Still Clueless After All These Years

Before I submit more evidence of the criminal incompetence of the Democratic Party, let me first address the trolls.

Dear Brownshirt Fuckheads:

My criticism of the Democratic Party is born of my concern for country over narrow partisan interests. Unlike you zombies, I have the intellectual honesty to criticize the political leadership on my side of the aisle when it fails to meet high standards of competency and integrity that we thinking Americans expect to be upheld. In other words, I love my country in the manner of an adult. You, on the other hand, are children, who take an idiotic sandbox approach to politics. You are either incapable of recognizing that the Republican Party is taking a giant shit on everything this country stands for, or you recognize it and are too piss-scared to admit it. Whatever the case, you resort the politics of the fucking playground. It’s rock-stupid sheep like you who have delivered every dictatorship in history to power.

Why don't you fuckheads just stick to playing Nintendo and raiding mom's fridge.

And speaking of rock stupid…

Fuck this Retarded Country

Hackett lost.

Nevertheless, there seems to be a consensus that the closeness of this election is great news for Democrats. Okay, fine. I’m sure that’s true.

But, you know what? I derive little hope and happiness from near-victories over Rethuglicans. I am quite fucking dejected today, frankly.

How many more years of this darkness must we endure?

Traitorous, war-profiteering, false-Christian swine sit illegitimately in the White House and sink us deeper into an unnecessary war that pours gasoline on the raging fires of a horrifying Jihadist militancy. Meanwhile, the so-called news media obsess over missing white women and the romantic toils of Jennifer Aniston.

And the so-called opposition party is precisely the same timid, cowering joke that was defeated by BushCo the past two elections. They are a formless pile of mush.

But we almost beat a Republican.

Oh fucking joy.

Staff Puke

Are you following the Swift-Boating of Paul Hackett, the Democratic Congressional candidate for the Second District of Ohio? If elected, Hackett would be the first veteran of the Iraq War in Congress.

There’s plenty info on Hackett in this article, but here are the basics of his service:
In 2004, Hackett, a Major in the Select Marine Corps Reserve, volunteered for active duty in Iraq. He then spent seven months as a civil affairs officer with the 4th Civil Affairs Group of the 1st Marine Division. He was assigned to Ramadi, took part in the Fallujah campaign and supported the reconstruction efforts in Fallujah. On 12 October 2004, a convoy under his command was hit by two road-side bombs.
The wingnuts are smearing the shit out of this guy.

Now the pill-popping draft-dodger Limbaugh has weighed in.

The lows to which these pigs will stoop just astounds.
