Swiftboats on the Horizon
This morning on the Stephanie Miller show, a caller brought up an excellent point:
Does any one really believe that Obama could effectively fend off the right-wing slime machine in a general election?
Sorry, but the Kerry experience is still very much an open wound for me. And in terms of chronic risk-aversion and propensity for falling into right-wing traps, Kerry and Obama are cut from the exact same cloth.
Also, in no way do I mean to lionize the right wing slime machine. To the contrary, a politician with a modicum of dignity and courage could slap those assholes down in about five minutes.
