Just a couple of thoughts.

The other day I thought of a good theme or slogan to sum up the BushCo approach to post 9-11 governance:

Goin’ for it.

This has been the BushCo mindset since receiving (or orchestrating) the gift of 9-11, which gave them the supreme leverage they needed to realize their maniacal imperial ambitions abroad and their un-American authoritarian project at home. Their instinctive response to a national tragedy was not to try to heal the ills that beset the nation and the world, but to amass power onto themselves and enrich their cronies.

Goin’ for it.

Of course, an effective opposition party with balls and a functioning press could have and should have nipped this sick gambit in the bud, but, well, you know….

Which brings me to my next point.

Where in the fuck are the Democrats?

Where is the substantive evidence that they are positioning themselves for victory in 2006 and 2008?

Am I missing something?

And no, Bill Clinton mildly scolding Bush about playing politics with terror is not adequate.

Fuckin’ a. We haven’t moved even an inch forward.

One domestic terrorist attack and the whole country will wet the bed and run screaming into the protective arms of the next Republican president — probably Saint McCain.
