The beltway media whores (Broder, Matthews, et al.) are gushing over McCain. He is the darling of the mainstream media, who have finally decided it’s not cool to suck up to Bush anymore. The Republican-groupie press loves McCain, and it won’t take much for a critical mass of American voters (Democrats included) to embrace him. Meanwhile, the Democratic party leadership is telling us “they’ll have positions later.” This is beyond infuriating. And the notion that McCain will not succeed because the base doesn’t support him is bullshit. McCain is poised for the White House. If the Dems don’t get their shit together, we’re gonna have another Republican in 2009.
