Kerry Courts Electoral Defeat

From Talking Points Memo:

Speculation is rife about whom John Kerry will choose as his running mate. Newsweek reports that Kerry "is engrossed in the final shortlist of veep picks. Kerry sources say the choice is narrowing to Iowa Gov. Tom Vilsack and former House Democratic leader Dick Gephardt, and that the candidate remains personally uncomfortable with Sen. John Edwards."
Vilsack?

Kerry / Vilsack ’04!

A rallying cry for the new millennium. BushCo may has well call it quits

Oh, by the way…. Who or what the hell is a “Vilsack”?

And Gephardt?

Way to inject some vitality into the ticket by placing a tired old relic of party failure in the VP slot.

Christ!

Even if Kerry does wise up and pick Edwards—whom I believe is the only logical choice—the fact that he’s seriously considering these disastrous picks makes me shudder with fear.
