Giant Squid Photographed off Japan Coast; House Majority Leader Indicted on Charges of Criminal Conspiracy

After a long day at the office, I looked forward to soaking up the coverage of the criminal indictment of House Majority Leader Tom DeLay.

Let me repeat that:

The criminal indictment of House Majority Leader Tom DeLay.

Unfortunately, your liberal media felt this nuclear bomb merited only the obligatory minimum coverage on the evening programming. Yes, DeLay got top billing at the opening of the newscasts. But within ten minutes of each hour-long program, the DeLay story evaporated, and it was back to wall-to wall hurricane coverage and the giant squid. Un-fucking-believable. And of course, the proportionally absurd amount of DeLay coverage was framed in the usual “he-said-she-said” style of reporting we’ve come to expect from the derelict bootlicking media whores. In other words, equal weight was given to the absurd and desperate Republican talking point that the indictment of DeLay, the most ferociously partisan and blatantly corrupt GOP thug on the Hill, was a partisan attack.

Nauseating and infuriating.

How the fuck do these people sleep at night?

Public Service Message

Here's about 20 minutes worth of work Capt. K and I put in on the drive home from work last night.

Don't let the few cars in this shot fool you; our message was seen by thousands of commuters.

You'll never know how great freeway blogging is until you get off your butt and try it.

So Much for the Anti-War Movement

This should take the wind out of the opposition's sails.

Game over.

Bush wins.

Yes, standing a few feet apart from each other really does give the perception of a stronger turnout. Shit, consider me sold.

Sacrifice, Heroism, and Deep Pockets on the Homefront

Oodles of armchair bravado, a few million magnetic ribbons, and a whopping six-hundred bucks.

Who says it's the WWII cohort that comprises the “Greatest Generation”? Those kooks ain't got shit on Bush supporters.

Then again, how much should anyone pony up for a sham constitution / photo op / Iran- style stone-age theocracy?

But I digress into unproductive gloating. The real question, as became clear from watching our embedded media yesterday, is whether Bush will “get his swagger back.”

How does it feel to be living in a bad joke?

Sound Familiar?

Well, this is a bit unsettling.

I was going to suggest you forward the article linked above to the wingnut(s) in your life. But if they haven’t woken up by now, it’s going to take a lot more than a Web article to convince them.

Jeezus, who poured the “stupid juice” in the water supply?

"Strategy" of Silence

What is the difference between the current Democratic Party and the one that has been losing elections for the past several election cycles?

What are the Dems doing to position themselves for victory in 2006 and 2008?

I think you know the answers to both these questions.

There is no difference.

They are doing nothing.

This is beyond belief.

The nimrod is on the ropes, but apparently the challengers don’t want the belt.

Jack Cafferty

I can avoid this post no more.

CNN’s Jack Cafferty — a man I used to despise for his reactionary right-wing bloviatings on CNN’s morning programming — is just putting the screws to BushCo every day. His rants have become a daily feature on Crooks and Liars and other blogs that post video.

So credit where credit is due. The dude is hammering the bastards.

Video examples here (scroll down) and here.

Yawn

Why would the MSM want this report on this, when it’s so much more fun to talk about the president’s “comeback"?

Christ, all this asshole has to do is roll up his sleeves, shed his tie, and give a bullshit speech in front of a bullshit backdrop for the MSM to get on their knees again.

Fucking sad people.

The Never Ending Story

BushCo shits on the country and world.

MSM bend over backwards to avoid reality.

Dems quiver in fear.

Outrage permeates the liberal blogosphere.

Five fucking years -- and counting.

Happy Friday

This one’s for you, Scott.

A Greenville Technical College official who twice referred to New Orleans evacuees in Greenville as "yard apes" has resigned, school officials said. Renee Holcombe, formerly an associate vice president for student services with a staff of about 40, told employees in two separate briefings last week that the school's aid for the mostly black hurricane victims staying at the Palmetto Expo Center would include sending yellow buses to pick up the "yard apes," said Barton and senior vice president Ben Dillard.
Lovely woman.

How Can This Be Happening?

How is it that this country is still being held hostage by BushCo’s brain-dead supporters?

How can they keep winning?

And make no mistake; they are winning. I don’t give a fuck that Bush’s poll numbers are tanking. He is still in power, with more than three years left in his term.

Over three years to continue his reign of corrpution, incompetence, and destruction of all that is decent and just.

I keep hearing that the people and the press are finally waking up.

Well, frankly, that doesn’t mean shit to me.

Let me know when the Bush bastards in shackles, where they belong.

Message to the Mouthbreathers

This is a photo of me and one of the many street performers of what was once the great city of New Orleans. What a superb time this photo represents. It was taken in the late afternoon, several days into our trip. Bourbon Street was alive with music, much drinking, and laughter. I had a nice buzz going, hangin’ out with Amy and looking forward to another incredible dinner of New Orleans cuisine and more fun and music. What great people. What a great city.

In all likelihood, this funny, cool cat (who Amy and I saw around the French Quarter almost every day of our trip) has been swept away in the great shitstorm of BushCo’s arrogance and criminal incompetence. It just breaks my heart that the people of New Orleans — with all of their humor, culture, and generous spirit — are facing this unnecessary nightmare.

Fuck.

So for all of you racist, heartless, gutless Republican pieces of shit who are saying that these people got what they deserved….

Go fucking die.

Seriously. Do us all a favor.

You’ve brought enough misery to this world.

The spaceship awaits. Climb the fuck aboard.

Now I Just Laugh

Seriously, something has changed in me since the Katrina disaster. I find myself giggling uncontrollably over the tragic follies of BushCo. I watch the news and I read about the massive fuckups (which are now coming by the hour) and it all just makes me laugh. I honestly think my anger is tapped out. The situation is so god damn crazy that I believe some type of internal defense mechanism has kicked in to protect my soul. I even caught myself singing this morning. Maybe I’m going
insane. Or maybe I sense the end is near for BushCo. Whatever it is, I’m rolling with it.

I know people are dying, but I have to survive.

Here, have a laugh on me.

FEMA: Rancid Cesspool of Incompetent BushCo Cronies

At the request of Mr. Underhill, I’m going to engage in the “blame game.”

I know, I know, now is hardly the time to be holding accountable those in charge of keeping us safe. There’ll be plenty of time for that later, when BushCo launches an investigation into itself.

But for you hysterical left-wing partisans that want to politicize this tragedy, here you go.

I hope this makes you America-haters happy.

Help is on the Way

A commenter on Atrios gives us this important update:

There were spot shortages of whitewash reported during the past week, but emergency supplies have been located.

Truckloads will be delivered to Congressional Hill today and for the foreseeable future.

The White House reports it has been resupplied and has graciously begun sharing with the MSM.
Arrival confirmed.

New Orleans…Death….Halliburton….Arrrrggghhhhhh!

|

The Wheels are Coming Off

I shit you not. Check the First Reads.

Incredible shit happening!

Pelosi just called Bush "oblivious, in denial, dangerous" on national television!

There are credible reports that BushCo is seeking to ban the media from New Orleans!

Oh my god!

Dare I say it?

Is this the downfall?

|

Time to Laugh

Looks like they’ve added some new ones since I last checked.

|

Katrinagate

Christ, I can't keep up with all the outrageous shit. Check the "First Reads" list and behold.

BushCo is spinning like a top, trying to avoid the "Blame Game." Give me a fucking break!

And now there's talk of more "commissions."

NO MORE FUCKING WHITEWASH COMMISSIONS!

TIME FOR FUCKING HEADS TO ROLL.

What the fuck is it gonna take to get these people ejected from the People's House?

This country is broken.

So am I.

Death by Photo-Op

All together now: Worst President Ever.

|

Your Thoughts

It’s going to be a busy day for me, so please share your thoughts on the cruel joke that is BushCo.

A few things to ponder:

The reconstruction of the Gulf Coast is being turned over to Halliburton and other GOP cronies. Why do you think Cheney has been invisible for the past week? He's been busy lining up the pigs at the trough.

Normally subservient members of the media are blasting Bush right now, but I fear this won’t last. They’ll soon step back into line and re-plant their noses firmly in Bush’s asshole. They have no memory. Just watch.

These staggeringly incompetent, corrupt thugs are going to reshape an already right-wing Supreme Court. We’ll be feeling the pain of BushCo long after they have left office. That is almost too much to absorb.

The supposed genius of the Constitution was that it set up a government that could prevent the evils that result from human imperfections. Well, you can flush that notion right down the shithole. What we are witnessing is nothing short of the failure of the American experiment.

??????????????

Literally shaking with anger as I type this.

|

Thanks, Motherfucker

The latest Iraq war casualty: New Orleans.

Let’s just hope that the frustration and rage of public officials and hurricane victims manifests into loud and repeated condemnations of the Master of Disaster.

Of course, then CNN, at the bidding of its GOP masters, will portray the hurricane victims as the Michael Moore-terrorist left.

And it'll work.
